STREET FESTIVAL WITH CHURCH
1984 24 x 30 Oils over Acrylics on Canvas Panel. This particular ‘’Italian’’ street festival occurs about a dozen blocks from the Feast of San Genarro, and not nearly as big, but never the less, surreal. I saw what was depicted here exactly like this. Notice the Ferris wheel, the gambling wheel and the round church window. They hang their stuffed animals by the neck.
ALL ROADS LEAD TO CONEY ISLAND
1986. 42 x 54. Oils on Canvas. This painting started as an actual drawing on site from a subway station that begins and ends in Coney Island. All trains in NYC begin and end there, so all roads lead to Coney Island. But it was also meant symbolicly. “”Coney Island’’ represents THE AMERICAN CULTURE: Delicious bad food, cheap worthless trinkets to win, and run entirely by gangsters. All roads in our culture lead to what Coney Island represents.

GIRL DREAMING IN CONEY ISLAND
1986 24 X 36. Oils on Canvas Panel. She has no hopes past tomorrow. She lives in a state of cotton candy. She loves her pink popsicle life. As long as the Candy Apple stays on the stick. She has perfumed hair. She lives on a sandy edge. Her cries are heard by no one. She dreams of Coney Island.
THE FEAST OF SAN GENARRO
1984. 24 X 36. Acrylics on Canvas Panel. In the Fall of every year, a massive street festival in Little Italy NYC occurs for about 2 weeks. Living nearby it from 1974, through 2001, I always attended it every year…..But not partake in , only to observe and make drawings. The fact is, it is run by powerful ruthless gangsters, who make millions from this insane gathering. I studied the deep symbolic manifestations of this evil and tried depicting it in the visuals I saw and painted.
